I took this picture for you Palo. On Monday (yesterday) I went to a Roger Waters concert and I saw tons of veterans that had their Nam camo jackets and they actually patched Pink Floyd on their jackets and they were veterans. Pink Floyd is very anti war and well It was cool seeing how a vietnam veteran reacted when he saw that they put this on their wall.

Operation Gratitude
On their official website they have all kinds of little facts and descriptions on what Operation gratitude does. The cool thing I found on this website was the counter that counts the number of care packages sent to the troops to date. It shows how large of a difference a few little things can do.

War Statistics
This website has some pretty crazy numbers and statistics that you should check out. When can we say enough is enough lets just stop what we've done. We've gave it a good run. We just have more important things to think about right now.

Inspirational Painting.
Well I painted this just because I was surprised on how many people appreciated my paintings I hadn't a clue people would see my paintings the way some people did so I got a little creative and well I painted this. It's a world that's just in nowhere and It's got a mountain and a planet and some water that's just flowing into nothing. I can also say this is how many people feel how the economy is running. They try so hard to get up to a job and not long passes til they have to get laid off in order for the company to survive. Just a little painting I did that I was quite proud of I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Iraq War
The caption said "When will it end" I understand many troops have fallen and it'd be tough to just pull out now and all our troops died for nothing but, there's way too many problems here for us to be worrying about other peoples problems.

Prop 19 Commercial Ad
Basically this ad is telling you to vote yes on prop 19 because it will help control the trafficking of marijuana. He said as a law enforcement officer he saw how it has failed to control the trafficking of marijuana. It would generate billions which will help in various things.

Teacher Interview
The other day I interviewed my neighbor who happens to be a 10th grade history teacher. She wanted to stay anonymous and I will respect that. I asked her various questions on how she felt the educational system is and her thoughts on it, and I've concluded she wants the educational system to change. She believes that standards and tests aren't the correct way to evaluate a student. She made a remark saying have you ever had a bad test day? She thinks that there should be a different way to evaluate and "grade" a student.

George Carlin on Education
Yes the title says it all, the best comedian ever on education. He brings up the argument on how schools need more money etc and it's not doing anything. This is a video that you should definitely check out!

Finland's Education
This is a video showing Finland's educational success. This is actually a Brit tv show so it's a different point of view other than the us shows saying Finland is the best. This only adds to how everyone looks up to Finland. It shows how these kids go to school they relax. Take their shoes off and know their teachers by their first name. Which sounds odd but all these little things may add up to a better experience for the student. Which ultimately adds up to Finland's great success in education.

Prop 19
This isn't on education but will be voted on in november. It is the proposition proposing the legalization of marijuana. This is just a video of different perspectives. Personally, I think it should be passed because it may help out California's economy through taxing the marijuana. Granted it may flip peoples taboos but it may end up helping.

Reflextion
On Wednesday's class discussion I think it went very well I just really need to get in the habit of just speaking what comes to my mind. Similar to how Mr. Palo said we had great quality but participation just isn't there as much as the other classes. I need to start just speaking what comes to mind. I think our next one will be great we can't go with another defeat. I'm hoping our next topic will be one that is more interesting to me. I have a hard time finding that much interest in a topic that is irrelevant to myself. I know you can say it'll trickle down to you sometime, but It really doesn't affect me I tend to not care.

Senate Bill 1070
This article I found was talking about how some people from Arizona felt about the whole immigration issue. Some people believed that eventually the Mexican drug cartels were going to take over. Granted I'm sure there are some immigration that has to do with drug trafficking but, not all. That's like saying all Muslim people are terrorists and I don't want to get into that topic. Basically it states that some people are scared that the Mexican drug cartels are going to take over Arizona.

Senate Bill 1070
This article basically addresses that it's a unethical way to go about fixing Arizona's immigration. It makes no sense doing so. They believe that there are far more important things to be focusing on at the moment rather than Arizona's immigration. It also states that if they imply such a strict immigration law that it'll actually end up hurting Arizona's economy. I think that they should have figured something better out for this situation. I know that's easy to just say but I think someone should have thought this out a little longer.

Reflection
As a reflection towards our class discussion I think it went well. I was very sick the day so I didn't participate as much as I wanted to but next discussion I will participate a lot. I found it interesting how different people thought on the subject. Some people said things that made me think "I didn't think of that". Which makes the topic more interesting to see the subject from various point of views. Just to sum up what I thought about the subject I think the the people should be able to build what ever they please but building it will not change anyone's mind over the Islamic Religion. You can't just change people's minds that easily so there will still be ignorant people that are around regardless if the mosque is built or not. Overall, I think the next discussion will be a drastic improvement to beat 2nd period.
